The Old Path vs. the New Standard

Manage the Decline, or Invest in the Joint?

Most people are told the same story about aging joints: manage the pain, tolerate the decline, and eventually replace the joint. Rest. Ice. A steroid shot. More pills. Then surgery.

That approach manages symptoms. It rarely asks how to help the tissue itself.

Regenerative medicine asks a different question: how do we support your body's own healing capacity so you can keep the joints you have, and keep doing what you love with them?

This is for people who see their body as something to invest in, not something to surrender. If your goal is to garden at 65, travel at 70, and lift your grandkids without thinking twice, this is the care built for that goal.

The Basics

What Is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine uses biologic therapies, drawn from your own body or from carefully selected sources, to support the repair environment in injured or worn tissue. Instead of only masking pain, these treatments are designed to deliver concentrated healing signals directly to the joint, tendon, ligament, or disc where they are needed.

Arthritis

Worn, painful joints, including knees told they're "bone on bone."

Tendon & Ligament Injuries

Partial tears, strains, and tendon problems that won't settle down.

Chronic Joint Pain

Shoulder, hip, knee, and spine pain that hasn't resolved with basic care.

Sports & Overuse Injuries

For active adults and athletes hoping to delay or avoid surgery.

Side by Side

Why Consider It Over Traditional Options?

Compare Traditional pathway Regenerative pathway
Focus Reducing pain and inflammation Supporting the tissue's repair environment and reducing pain
Typical tools Steroid injections, pain medication, surgery PRP, A2M, stem cell therapy, paired with rehab
Source Medications or implants PRP and A2M from your own blood; a donated perinatal product for stem cell therapy
Downtime Surgery often means weeks to months of recovery Typically an in-office procedure with a short recovery
Long-term thinking Respond when it gets bad enough Act early to preserve function

Regenerative care is not a replacement for every surgery, and we will tell you honestly when surgery is the right call. But for many people, it is a meaningful step to try first.

Treatments

Your Regenerative Options

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

We draw a small amount of your blood and concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors involved in healing. That concentrate is then placed precisely where your body needs it. PRP is often used for tendon problems, ligament injuries, and early to moderate joint wear.

A2M (Alpha-2-Macroglobulin)

A2M is a protein found naturally in your blood that helps protect joint tissue from the enzymes that break cartilage down. Using a concentrated preparation from your own blood, A2M therapy is designed to calm the destructive, inflammatory environment inside an arthritic joint. Think of it as protecting the joint from the inside.

Stem Cell Therapy

Our stem cell therapy uses a perinatal, umbilical-derived product designed to deliver cells and signaling factors that support tissue repair in more advanced or stubborn problem areas. Because it comes from donated tissue, there is no bone marrow harvest for you to go through.

Better Together

Why the Combination Works Better Than Any One Alone

A damaged joint is not a single-problem situation. It usually involves inflammation, enzyme-driven breakdown, and tissue that needs repair signals, all at once.

  • A2M helps protect what you have.
  • PRP delivers growth factors to support repair.
  • Stem Cell Therapy adds a cellular component for tougher or more advanced cases.

Your provider may use one, two, or all three, matched to your joint, your imaging, and your goals. The right combination is a clinical decision made with you, not a menu you pick from.

The AHC Difference

Why It Works Best Inside a Complete Program

An injection alone is not the finish line. Biologics give the tissue a chance. What you do next determines how far it goes. At Active Health Clinics, for best results regenerative treatment is built into a full plan:

1

Diagnose the Real Problem

Examination and imaging to find what is actually driving your pain.

2

Correct the Mechanics

Chiropractic care to restore alignment and joint motion so the treated area is not fighting the same forces that damaged it.

3

Rebuild Strength & Movement

Physical therapy designed around your recovery, so the joint is supported by strong, well-coordinated muscle.

4

Support Healing From the Inside

Integrative medicine and wellness coaching on nutrition, inflammation, and recovery habits.

5

Treat With Precision

Regenerative injections timed to fit into that plan.

6

Maintain

Ongoing monitoring and movement habits to protect the result.

Most clinics offer injections. Very few put them inside a coordinated team. That is the difference.

Candidacy

Is This Right for You?

You may be an excellent candidate if you:

  • Have joint, tendon, or spine pain that has not resolved with rest or basic care
  • Have been told you have arthritis, a partial tear, or “bone on bone” and want options before surgery
  • Are an active adult or athlete who wants to keep performing
  • Want to delay or avoid joint replacement where appropriate

This may not be the right fit if you:

  • Have an active infection, certain blood disorders, or some cancers
  • Have structural damage that clearly needs surgery
  • Are looking for a quick fix with no participation on your part

Every patient starts with a consultation so we can tell you honestly which group you fall into.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is regenerative medicine safe?

PRP and A2M are prepared from your own blood. Our stem cell therapy uses a screened, donated perinatal product collected after birth. As with any injection, there are risks at the injection site, such as soreness, swelling, and, extremely rarely, infection, which your provider will review with you.

Does it hurt?

The area is numbed, and most patients describe pressure and some soreness afterward.

How long until I notice a difference?

It varies. Some patients notice relief right away, while others see gradual improvements over weeks and can continue to see improving results months after injection. Regenerative therapies work with your body's timeline, and not everyone responds the same way.

How many treatments will I need?

Some patients need one, others a series. Your provider will recommend a plan after your evaluation.

Will it replace my need for surgery?

For some patients it helps delay or avoid surgery. For others, surgery remains the right choice. We will be straightforward about which is which.

Is it covered by insurance?

Regenerative treatments are generally not covered by insurance. We will give you clear, upfront pricing at your consultation. Payment plans are available, and we will walk you through every option up front.

What is recovery like?

Most patients return to normal daily activity quickly, with guidance on temporarily limiting high-impact activity.

Where does the stem cell product come from?

It is a perinatal product made from umbilical tissue donated by a screened, healthy mother after the birth of her child.
